Covered a girls hoops game, our newer rivals (white) against our older rivals...home (white) has serious height...won 52-41
Probably my least-favorite gym to shoot in...it's cavernous as there's an indoor track circling it, and it has old sodium vapor lights so good old cycling (green, pink). Tried the LR4 Adjustment Brush for WB (tint/temp) and it helped a little, but not a 'magic brush'.
really like 2, 4, 5. #8 you wondering about the cutoff, I'm on the fence but leaning towards the side of it affecting the shot overall.
I noticed in the Exif (if correct) you use center weighted metering. Have you noticed a big difference between that and matrix? I know in the gym I use for whatever reason there is a bit of a difference. I use matrix and sometimes wonder if on the D3s your choice or even spot may be a better option.
Thanks very much...appreciate the feedback on the cutoff.
Yes, I'll use Matrix if I'm using Active D-Lighting, but tend to be a CW guy. If it's very backlit, then sometimes I'll use Spot and totally disregard the background (blowing it out) which tends to happen more w/ Spot. I'd suggest giving CW (10mm I think) a try.
I try to do as you did, setting a custom wb with a ss that should take into account the full "swing" of the lights, and then you still have to fine-tune each shot individually if you're going to take the time to get it right in post.
Having said that, you done good and an enjoyable set to check out! 4 and 5 for faves because of the framing.
