p.1 #1 · PayPal charging for 'gift' option

Bought a piece of equipment from an FM'er the other day and agreed to send it thru Gift. When I checked out with PP, I noticed that I was charged 3 1/8 percent. Anyone else experience this.

Maybe you didn't have enough funds in your account, if you use a CC they'll hit ya for the fees.

That may be the reason. I did use a CC. But I have used that method in the past with no fees attached. Who knows....

Did paypal email you anything? I've seen people getting emails who use paypal gift too much being scolded by paypal. Basically saying they can't use feeless gift anymore.

You get a 3.1ish % fee if you use a credit card, irrespective of regular paypal or gift.
