Hi,

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro and want to know if you can use a minidisplay port to displayport to connect the computer to an NEC PA 271W-BK monitor at full 2560 pixel resolution.

Or will I need to use the dual-link DVI adapter method?

dont need the dual DVI but you will probably want to also connect the monitor via USB for Spectraview calibration

My mid-2009 MBP 17" is connected to my PA271W-BK-SV monitor using the NEC-supplied(through B&H, and at extra cost) MiniDisplay Port to Display Port adapter cable. Works great, and: No further USB connection is necessary to operate the SV calibrator software between the PA271 and the MBP. The sensor-puck thingy does need a USB to operate.
