Purely magical area just south of Glacier Bay Alaska.
I have debated myself to level the shoreline or not with the frame; let me know your thoughts as I plan to have it printed soon for the wall of memories.
I agree with Jeffrey on the level of the shoreline.
Lovely shot, Scott. It looks like that thick clouds is coming down to embrace the mountain ridge.

I agree with the others. I've seen shorelines that were not level that looked like they should be. I kept wanting to adjust them. This one, however, seems fine to me. The visual clues support the angle rather than fighting it.
I have been on that cruise twice or maybe three times, but all long ago. Beautiful place.

I like this shot a lot. Look at the reflection lines on the water which look vertical to me. If you rotate it, they will no longer look correct.
I actually did it just to see. I found out that i like the "rotated' one better. it looked straight up and one doesn't feel the need to tilt one's head to look at it as is the case with the original version.Try it you might change your opinion.
Great shot!
I love the light on the top of the snowy mountains.
My suggestion would be to definitely level the shoreline. Even though it's not a horizon line, my eyes keep telling me that the image is crooked. I would also crop the image at the bottom just a tad.
Best,
Fred
Thanks for the feedback. As suggested, I added a second image with straightened shoreline and slight crop; I still keep flip flopping which one I like the best. Nice thing is when I get the print and frame it I'll be able to adjust slightly as I mount it. Regardless, I still have the same fond "happy place" memory of the cool arctic breeze blowing though my hair as I was in awe of the beauty!

Way to go. But as I see it you will like the "corrected" option better. I bet because they, the photogs, conditioned me so well about the "horizon"
Beautiful photo. Both versions look "right" but to my eye, the original has more depth. My eye travels into the picture. Version 2 is more static, possibly because you had to crop the right side to straighten the shoreline.
