#3 - I went with a tighter crop as suggested. It does put more focus on the light rays. I do loose the deer though. I know the deers were small, but I like photos with little tidbits of interesting things to look at.

Hey Jason,
A beautiful scene here. Love the sky opening up like that. I am thinking that a B&W version of this might be really cool, it would let the rays take a prominent role in the shot. Right now, while the fall colors are cool, I think they might detract from the rays a bit.

Thanks Jim. I am working on a BW, still tweaking it to taste

Great shot Jason. It would be nice to see a B&W version but it works great as it is. The comp may also benefit from a tighter crop as the sun rays play a much bigger role than the deer.
Best,
Fred

Definitely worthy of posting! The deer is a bit small to actually see at first, so I agree with Fred.

Jason,
Lots of good things going on here.
As others have alluded, there might be several "pictures within the picture."
As presented here, I surely like this.
The morning clouds breaking up just enough to let a few rays sneak in. Hooha! Nice.
For my taste, I think I'd prefer the clouds and Glacier Point to be a bit darker and contrastier, but that's a small nit.

I agree on the tighter crop. The mountain and the sun rays have such a good texture in the B&W the foreground really does nothing for me.
Great capture.

I'm going to go against the grain here, while I do like the B/W versions... I don't think the color is bad here and like the deer... my eye hit the rays then trailed down to the deer and loved it.
