Houses like this were almost certainly made of locally available materials.
And quite probably constructed by the original owner and family and friends. It costs a lot of money to have someone else do your work for you- and I suspect that remote locations like this- in an economically poor part of the world like Kashmir- had many buildings constructed by their owners.
