p.1 #1 · Trading Card Design - Which Way Looks Better???

Just whipped this up last night and would like opinions on which way looks better, solid color outer border or white outer border

They are both nice but I favor the white. Maybe it just looks a little more old school.

Both fantastic. I also favor the white as it struck me as having a retro feel.
2nd is definitely a keeper for a today type sports card dealio.

For a card, I like the first one as it just looks more like a player card.

I like the Blue. I found my eye much more rapidly drawn to the shot, whereas with the white, the color look like it is hovering over the ice a little. Nothing wrong with white for a card design, I just preferred the blue.
