This was an exciting game that went down to the last tenth of a second, but the Jazz blew a 14-point lead to lose 105-104. Lots of big names on the Clippers team, but none more of a showman than Blake Griffin. The guy really performs and is very aware of the effect he has on the crowd. Here are 11 images from the game (full set here). C&C welcome.
Looks like you're getting everything dialed in at Energy Solutions Arena. Got the watermark upgraded already too! I have to ask you a question. Are you finding that the MKIV is spending more time on the floor rather than in your hand at indoor events. I know I am! When I'm editing in Lightroom it's becoming too obvious which were shot with the MKIV. Thanks for posting.
Ben: It pains me to say that I very definitely prefer the 1DX over the 1DIV. I don't know that there's much of a difference in IQ, but usability isn't even competitive, and I feel as though the 1DX makes it more likely I will get the shot. I really think it all boils down to the user interface, which is just so much better, in my opinion, with the 1DX. It's insane to think this way given what a great camera the 1DIV is. But there you go.... Thanks for your comments.
Thanks, Jerry. Contact galore! And yeah, the 1DX is my new best friend.
I loved the pose in number 10, it instantly felt like I was looking at a basketball trading card. With the action pose. But, is it my ipad, or is the focus actually between the two players and more toward the black padded elbow with Griffin's face having just slightly soft focus?
Number 11 looks like there was going to be some heavy duty contact, did Griffin go down?
Caleb: Haha. From a repetition standpoint, some progress noted. Beyond that, still working...
Thanks as always, dj.
Hey Mike, thanks! Great to see you posting some of your work again.
Guy: Thank you. Griffin did not go down from the contact in #11. I don't remember if it led to a foul being called on him, but he's a strong guy and he and others were giving Milsap all kinds of trouble that night. As for #10, yeah, it probably is the case that the focus point isn't perfectly on Griffin's face. That would be a mighty tall order! (I usually track closer to the chest) and from the standpoint of our emphasis on the perfect image, desirable. (I should add that it's exacerbated by the fact the elbow pad has visual qualities that make it look even more sharp relative to Griffin's face that I suspect it actually is. Probably the same qualities that are so attractive to the AF system!
