Hi everyone,
This photo was taken at Mesquite Dunes right after sunset.
I usually visit this location in the morning, so it was fun to see different shades and light at dusk. The dunes were filled with steps and it was difficult to get a good composition without showing them on the frame. I chose this high up view for this reason.
Thanks for viewing!
Fred
You made the sand look like some sort of cream pie - neat effect!
The juxtaposition between the texture and color of the sand vs the mountains is awesome

Very cool looking! You got some very nice color there.
Sunset is my favorite time at the dunes, because you can see the footprints, and you have time to hopefully find an area without them. At Sunrise, it's really hard to see the footprints if the wind didn't blow them away, until it's too late. So, I actually prefer the Sunset... Now when I was there last week, it was just about impossible too, there was tons of footprints. I did manage to find an area after hiking back in there for about an hour that had minimal footprints. But for much of the sunset I shot it just like you did, from high up and a far with a wide angle.

I thought I would not get any colors because heavy clouds were blocking the sun that day. It was a nice surprise.
Thanks Kee and Jason.

Thanks Bob,
The sun was setting on the opposite side. But the dunes were not in total shade yet.
There he goes again with that dang 17mm!
Nice colors & perspective
Cream heck, this looks like Lemon Meringue Pie, slightly browned!!
No, I'm not thinking off holiday dinners. Nope

Dan, It's no secret that the 17 TS-E is my favorite lens!
I was checking my recent DV pictures and the 17mm lens was used in 90% of the time!...I didn't even touch the 24 TS-E...
Happy Holidays!
