Interesting shoot, and one which reinforced my experience that during a family session, I can expect my creative plans to get blown up early, and decisively.
Delays, rain, and an upset kid caused me to throw much of my planned, scouted shoot out the window, and see what I could do on the wing. I was mad about the gloom, but on reflection I'm pretty happy with the light.
I hope you enjoy them! C/C always welcome.

3. The mom prefers the version of this shot in which her daughter is the one leaning over to plan a kiss, but I like this one more -- the little one has a wry look on her face that I get a kick out of.
qwyjibo, the session was at Franklin Canyon Park, which is tucked away between the touristy part of Beverly Hills and Mulholland, up in the hills. It's absolutely gorgeous.
Also, here's a cheesy one that I'd have loved to have pulled off -- alas, the little guy (a stickler for rules) was upset to the point of tears at the idea of brazenly standing in the road. The road is for CARS, silly photographer!
Ahhh, makes sense now, I mainly think about the lake/reservoir re: Franklin Canyon. I live a few miles west of there, but haven't been for a little while... I'll have to go again soon.
Best,
Dave
