p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · How most people first see a leopard and then...

I remember many years ago a guide saying, "Look, a leopard in that tree over there". Looking and looking I couldn't see anything that resembled a leopard but low and behold it was there, hanging out on a branch. Often that is how many who go on safari come to see their first leopard. But if you are very lucky you then get to see them up close, moving around and even sometimes in golden light. The first image is full frame of a leopard in a tree....I actually reduced some of the shadow on it so it is really more visible than it was in real life. The others, well some are in pretty low light...shot at ISO 3200 in fact but boy the newer Canon's (and Nikons for those of you on the dark side) make it so much easier to get clean images while keeping the shutter speed up.
Hope you enjoy a few more of my spotted friends.
Eric

2 and 3 are stunners Eric. I think most people would not see the leopard.

Another marvelous set, Eric.
Gadzooks! Those are magnificent animals!
And your images- time after time- show off their beauty and personalities. Endless thanks for these and your past and future leopard posts.
Man- the change in "personality" sure is apparent with image #4 following image #3.
Looks in the last shot as though its got an animal that is too heavy to carry up a tree. Good luck with the lions and hyenas, buddy.
And the idea that an animal as big as a leopard can chase monkeys around in trees- AND SOMETIMES CATCH THEM- is borderline unbelievable! I've seen it on nature shows, and wow!
So, Eric- that's your target. Start monkeying around in the forests .

Yeah Eric I'm with Charlie, lets see a Leopard catching a Monkey

I like the wide shot, great example of how they would be difficult to spot(no pun). The rest of the bunch really do a wonderful job of showing these animals beauty, wow!!

Wonderful cat shots Eric, #3 is a winner for sure, wow love that shot!
#4 is really beautiful showing all those spots.

Funny how are eyes become trained for our local environments to spot wildlife easily and how different it must be for our untrained eyes in other environments!

Whoa, sure like that 3rd shot Eric. The cat looks very pensive. And yeah, leopard are very easy to miss. I wonder how many go unnoticed at very close distance.

Nice work as ever Eric, perhaps you should change your name to "Leopard Man"?!

No.2 and no.3 are my picks.

Very nice set, Eric.
I guess if there are lots of trees like in #1 it will be very hard to spot the leopards.
