Please don't beat me for asking this if it's already been covered. I want to have my own website where I can put stuff in galleries like everyone else and have a storefront but my biggest question is about ads. Is there a host/builder/template that will allow me to place ads on my website or is that something that I have to know how to do? Or, is it just not worth it? Also, I am not a blogger so I don't care about that. I used to use printroom but they have not really changed their designs since I started with them 2 years ago. Any advice would be appreciated. I already have my own domain.

i have yet to have seen a pro photog with a website that has ads

Considering your website is basically an online portfolio, I would highly suggest staying away from ads. The money you'll make on them will be next to nothing, and it'll make your website look like trash.

If you don't mind Flash based sites, I'm very happy with Zenfolio.
I too would skip the ads and don't even know if it's possible on my site.

Smugmug is pretty solid and ad free. It has various levels so if you dont want all the fancy features its cheaper.
