I have shot a lot of dancers since I last had a chance to post.
I stopped shooting weddings for this year so I could concentrate on shooting dancers.
Rather than posting a long string of little photos here I hope the link will be forgiven. If you have a minute please clidk on the Slideshow and then Fast to view them at large size.
Just took a quick look but they are pretty fantastic IMO.
Only somewhat negative thing for me was that a few have the skin tones going a little gray (red-head on the rock is one example).
These are executed with excellence. My only issue was in some of the settings. I think some of the outdoor ones feel that the backgrounds distract from the power and grace of the dancers.
The ones that were in the studio or with very clean outdoor settings felt stronger to me.
Just my opinion, nevertheless, I wish I was as good as you :-)
I'm really enjoying your work with dancers. You've really progressed a lot since you first starting posting them. There's obviously too many for me to comment on individually. It'd be cool to see your sets as you do each shoot, so I encourage you to post here as you do each upcoming shoot.
This is a very nice collection. The best shots, in my opinion, are those you've previously shown from the sand dunes; these are just plain excellent. Beyond those, I also like the studio shots best, but many of the other outdoor location shots are very strong, particularly the alley shots. The one location that I don't thing works well is the place with the slatted wood structure on top. To me, it's too confining. Overall, however, this is a very strong collection.
Fantastic collection...From personal experience, I know its so difficult to get a single action shot just right...and you have over 100 pictures in the collection, you must be a very patient man !!
Appreciate everyone who took the time to have a look and comment.
Yes it is fun to work the outside locations.
Thanks Friscoron, I will try to post more frequently.....once it warms up a little.
That poor ballerina in the red was in 37 degree weather, she had to make a few trips back to the car heater.
Thanks Steve, yes the sand dunes was a very productive shoot with a couple of very fun dancers. I was worried because we did not get started till midday but it actually turned out to be a benefit.
Thanks Sridhar 125. I know what you mean. At this point I have shot enough dancers that I normally get the jumps in the first shot. When I first started it was a little embarassing...they would be all "one more..really"
