Correct, it was from the lower of the two observation decks on the Empire State Building.
I blended a couple exposure and the brought the highlights back in LR (air quality there isn't great so it's hard to get clear views to the distant buildings.) The B&W conversion was in Silver Efex 2.
numbers 1 and 3 are just amazing. The composition, the geometric patterns, the contrast of light. All of it is just amazing. How did you take the 3rd picture, just wondering.
On #3 I manually blended a couple exposures and then converted to B&W in Silver Efex 2. For the holidays I printed a few 30" wide prints of it for family and it really looked great blown up to that size.
