Hi, I hope I am not beating a dead horse but I am hoping to get some help. I purchased a D7000 from another person on this site and thought that since I have not been taking pictures for that long on a DSLR that it might be my picture taking but I am beginning to think that it is the camera. A lot of my images are not really sharp. Especially on far away subjects. Any thing I can do? Will Nikon fix it even though I did not purchase new? If they will does anyone know approximately how much it cost? Thanks.
have you looked into the instructions on the operations/setup of the camera?
do you understand the AF system and how to use it in different situations (it is a nice system )?
what lens(es) are you using?
what previous camera(s) are you familiar with?
There are a lot of discussions on this exact thing, please let's not start up another one - search for D7000 and read them. In the end you'll likely find -
tons of unhappy D7000 users starting with unsharp pictures
99% of them due to shutter speeds too low, less than ideal shooting technique, and some body/lens combinations needing some fine tuning. None of these any reason to send a camera back to Nikon.
It's a high pixel density camera with great AF capable of stunning shots with great detail - but you need to really pay attention to what you're doing to take advantage of that detail.
Enjoy - it's a killer camera. I own a D800 and I just bought another D7000 if that tells you anything
Nice shots! I really like the Sigma 17-70. Very underrated lens. I used to have the 35 1.8 welded to my D7K, but now it's the 17-70 that I prefer for almost everything.
