These guys usually glide effortlessly low and slow over open country looking and listening for prey and not coming close enough for a picture (for me at least).
It was nice to having a fly-by close enough for a picture and especially a male as I seldom see one.
That is quite the audience in the BG on #1 Beautiful shot here.
I also am OK wiith #2, something about the coarseness and texture of barbed wire that settles for me with hawks perched nearby. I might be inclined to crop it so the post on thte left is out of the picture to simplify more and maybe a bit more sharpening on the Harrier? Such a nice BG too!
Number 1 is great, this motivates me to attempt some harrier BIFs at Quivira NWR since when no other birds are around during the afternoon hours it seems this time of year (out feeding and whatnot), there are always 4 or 5 harriers flying about the dried up marshes.
