Actually, I'm in the process of parting with it. I've sold two lenses with two more to sell along with the OM-D. I like the camera/lenses but they can't compare with my Canon and Zeiss lenses overall and the RX1 is just awesome. When the successor to the RX100 comes out, I might consider it for a travel cam.

I was also wondering what you did with your MFT gear Bob. I currently also own Canon + Zeiss ZE, the OM-D with a few lenses and the RX1. I like the IQ of the Canon/ZE and RX1 much more than that of the OM-D, but I'm certainly not selling it. I think it's a fantastic camera for "getting the shot", in an unobtrusive way. I mostly use it for street/people.

Yeah, that's the dilemma for me. The OM-D is a great street camera but I don't know that I can keep all three. But I really like the RX1 and in fact for B&W including street, it blows the OM-D away. It's just a little slower and of course, it's stuck at 35mm. Some new stuff will be announced soon . . . like the successor to the RX100 and NEX-7. Maybe I'll go that route or maybe I'll just hang on to the OM-D. If I do, I'm likely to get a high quality zoom like the 12-35mm and keep it simple.

It indeed blows the OM-D away, but I just love the tiltscreen and AF speed.
Good luck with the decision. I owned the RX100 and I think the next one will be even more fantastic.

Bob, I had a chance to be in Minneapolis last week, it is a great city, lots of photo ops.
fyi, thanks all for suggestions for focus fix, i thought the "wacking" had not worked so I removed battery and did not use for 4 days, when I tried it again yesterday, the focus was working ???

Wow, so you actually did "wack" the lens as described...and that may have fixed it. Interesting.
Did you happen to charge the battery in-between that 4 days? I wonder if there may have been a battery/ power/ voltage variable at work as well.

Tariq, when I discovered the problem , I removed and reinserted two fully charged batteries and neither fixed the focus problem, nor did the "whacking" Fast forward 4 days without a battery, reinserted a battery and focus is now working ?? thanks for your suggestion, joanlvh

I am trying very hard to move from full frame cameras to the smaller form camera. It seems to be much less intrusive, easy to carry and to keep at hand.
I found that since I got the RX 1, I do not use the 5D2.
I tried the Merril cameras but found their colour rendition terrible, especially since I am Indian and these sensors do not handle our skin tones well at all.
I loved seeing what Helena is doing with the RX 1 and when she started with the Fujifilm XE-1 and posted wonderful photos, I thought it was worth a go. I took both cameras out on a wonderful winter’s solstice day in Trentham. Excellent light and glorious colours. I liked what the XE-1 did, but it really cannot compare with the magic of the Sony.
I posted some comparable photos on the XE-1 thread, these are all straight out of camera jpgs, no lightroom or other corrections. The XE-1 does it’s own thing with putting a film like colour to the images, but these are Sony RX 1 jpgs. The full size images are on Flickr.
I will definitely be getting the next Sony RX camera with a different focal length, I don't see why they would remove the AA filter, the images are super sharp to start with. _DSC3131 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3143 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3120 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3105 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3093 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3088 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3160 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3155 by doveychicken, on Flickr _DSC3085 by doveychicken, on Flickr
