I met this fellow while on vacation this past summer. It was a bright, windy day and his long locks caught my attention. Although it may not be the best image from a technical point of view, I feel it works reasonably well. What would you do to make it better?
Ken, I would likely crop some from the lefthand side maybe just up to his hair and see if I could bring out a little more detail in the hair on that side also. Then I might look at brightening the white of his eye a little.

Pretty close to being perfect imo, Ken.
And I'm envious- it was a terrific opportunity and you made the most of it.
About lightening anything- I'm not so sure. His face is weather-beaten and I doubt that the white of his eye would actually BE bright (they aren't with most people). Still, try it and see what you think.
The only thing I might suggest would be to selectively sharpen his face a bit. He has that doodoo-eating grin that makes me wonder if he's legit or not (but I like it anyhow ).
