Same picture where the first is cropped and the 2nd is uncropped but in B&W to avoid the distraction of the bright color of the objects on the edge of the frame. Enjoy.
I still feel like I'm too close to her, invading the personal space between us. The second shot has some breathing room. But this is just me and my personal concept of how close a closeup should be. The next dozen people might all like it that way, even if they don't comment. If the first shot is more representative of your style, then you definitely stick with it.

Actually, that makes sense to me ... I like the 2nd one better myself but in color, it has some really distracting background elements I could not avoid. Thank you for the feedback.
BTW, the child is a little boy who simply has not had his first hair cut yet! My wife and I are procrastinating.
Thank you ... that seems to be the consensus, which is why I showed the B&W version. I like the composition but not the colors of the more open crop. I suppose the other option is to clone out the grey blob (actually bright blue) in the lower right corner. I may try that and repost.
