does the lay flat option work as a single page or will the surface crack and split the image in two if you have an image centred over the fold? if you know what i mean.
The first album we made was 18 months ago for my father-in-law for his 80th. Many of our pictures are spread across the center, and although you CAN see that there is a line, the book really does lay flat so your view of the picture isn't affected.
The book has been very well-thumbed by visiting children and grandchildren etc, and there is no evidence of cracking.
All that being said, this was very much an informal family album. If I had been using it for, say, a wedding album, I think I'd avoid laying a photograph right across the center.
