p.1 #3 · Understanding how PayPal works | |
Hi Jim,
I have been using Paypal for over 10 years. I have a saving account tied to my account, it's just used for Paypal only! I also have a low credit line credit card linked to my Paypal account, it is only used for small purchases and it's also security for Paypal and Buyers. It proves who you are and that you are not trying to scam people by setting up a fake account. I have been burned/scammed by 2 people in the past. I bought a camera body for $3200 and a lens for $1900 Paypal was able to stop or retract the funds in both cases. If you are skeptical of Paypal I would say setup a Paypal only savings account to deposit your money in and then withdrawal it once it is transferred from your Paypal account to your savings account. On the credit card I would just use a card that has low limits or one you don't use, if you don't have any of those then use a credit card till your transaction is complete in its process and then call your credit card company and tell them it was lost or stolen and they will issue you a new one with a new account number for free. Good luck
