p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Blank roll during blackout

I dropped off a roll of Ilford 400 B+W at a highly recommended developer.
I was excited during the 48hour turn around time.
I had so many pictures of life in the East Village in NYC during the blackout and damage of Hurricane Sandy.

Blank. Appropriately the film had not caught on my Canon AE-1 when I loaded it. So many once in a life time memories.... never recorded

Amateur.. what a bummer

Sounds like 'perfect' blackout shots to me!

Amazing what goes through your head when you get a blank roll back.

1) jump over the counter an strangle the guy
2) self doubt.
2a) do the aperture blades work on that minty looking 40 year old FD 50mm 1.4 - check
2b) does the shutter work on all speeds - check
2c) did I roll the film right? Dang I was questioning why I felt no tension beginning to end of rewinding. So much so that I went into a dim room to check. Felt great to see the film fully contained in the roll.

Film is so unforgiving! Atleast they didn't print after processing. It was at GPS next to Adorama.

Did the edge marking show or was everything blank? If the film is totally blank you might want to consider shooting the lab, because something is really wrong....

Seen it happen several times....
