Robert...I understand your feelings about the increase...as I too thought it was a little excessive.
BUT
In the five years that I've used them, I have found that the customer service is second to none, up time on site is almost a pure 100%, and with the quantity of images I have stored, even the new price isn't that bad (over 15000 images in one category).
There is a price to maintain such a service and to also expand compatibility to the up and coming options needed to offer service to different formats.
Yes...I just wish they could have done it in increase steps...but then....we all still have the options of choice.
A free site for life...well...enter and never have to worry about rates again

Holy cow! That is a ridiculous price increase. I dropped SM a year ago, but if I hadn't done so then, I certainly would have after that price hike. I'm just a hobbyist anyway, so the Pro account was a splurge for me at best.
Wait... I just checked their pricing and I think you meant to type $150, not $250. That still would have sent me packing, though. And they have a higher level Business account now, too, for a whopping $300. I guess it's a good deal if you sell a lot.
If you recall, I mentioned in your other thread on this topic (which Fred deleted) that you might expect some spam from photowhoa.com. Well, I was correct on that point. I sent one entry using a disposable email address, and today the spam began to arrive - 7 emails so far.
