Thanks guys, I went back yesterday and shot another photo just to follow the progress. I hope I'm lucky enough to get a shot of it emerging or at least as an adult:
Old thread, but I thought it justified an update. Well, back in November, this little guy built a cocoon on a Texas Sage in my yard. We had all thought it was gonna be a dud. This morning however, when the kids were getting ready for shool, my daughter comes running in screaming, "DAD, DAD! The butterfly hatched!" I should probably loose a couple of points on my "Man Card" for saying this but it's kinda pretty.
