p.1 #1 · Shutter count when using video.

I have a 5D3 with video capability. I only use the camera for still shots (no video) What is the tear & wear ratio of Video vs Still shots. I know still shots causes shutter wear & tear and there's programs that can tell you shutter count. What about video? Is there a way to check for wear & tear?

Well the shutter only has to open at the start of the video and close at the finish. So there are very few actuations involved in video . But I don't know if there is extra stress put on the shutter mech by holding it open all the time.

It would be pretty much the same if you shot with live view as well
