The T4i is a much, much better camera than the T3i for stills & video.
For stills, it has the auto focus of the Canon 60D, which is much better than the previous.
For video, it has auto focus with the STM lenses (replaces a camcorder for me with much better quality), face tracking focus, touch screen, two stage heat warning, no heat problems (I have run it 1 3/4 hour on 1 battery with no heat issue), etc.
I sold a new one recently for $610 and $600. There are others here for $600 I think. You should be able to sell it later for $475 to $550 (a friend just sold a T3i on Craigslist for $600.)
