p.1 #1 · Lexar USB 3 Reader: Dual-Slot vs 25-in-1

Lexar has two USB 3 card readers the Dual-Slot (LRW307URBNA) and the 25-in-1 (LRW025URBNA).

What's the difference between the two other than the price, color and how many cards they an read?

well, how many different cards do you use? I use only CF, SD, and XQD. i'm covered on the first 2 using the quite fast 2 slot and have my XQD reader from sony that came with my D4.

The 25 in 1 is cheaper and there is no mention of UDMA 7, so I would say that it should be slower that the CF/SD reader. The latter works fine for me. Transfers are mainly limited by the card and the target storage, which should be a disc array or SSD for maximum throughput.

I've the older Lexar usb 2.0 2-slot and it's fantastic, would imagine the usb 3.0 is better/faster...I've never purchased the all in one type reader...Jerry

Thanks everyone!

Individual HDDs hit the ceiling at 90-150MB/s. UDMA 7's limited to 167MB/s so any speed improvements will be done through HDD RAID or SSDs.

So it's the Dual-Slot it is then!
