Had the good fortune to visit Southern Utah and couple weeks ago. I was blown away by the photographic opportunities! Here are three of my favorite spots in Canyonlands NP, the less visited neighbor of Arches. We stopped at Green River Overlook two nights including our last night when coming back from shooting at False Kiva, we noticed some good light. We literally ran the last 1/4 - 1/2 mi back to the car and floored it to the Overlook parking area, ran to the viewpoint. got there a bit late to catch the last light on the canyon walls but the sky did not disappoint. Had to use two ND Grads to tame the sky. I did some bracketing for HDRs also but have not processed those shots yet. Lazy! We visited Mesa Arch, a real favorite of us photographers, at about 10AM after the crowds left. Still the nice iconic glow on the underside of the Arch. Washer Woman (and another tower I forget the name of) seen through the Arch.
The last image is south of Moab a couple hours along Hiway 95. in South Mule canyon, this location has the appropriate designation of "House on Fire". I think you will agree on the name!
You sure nailed all the icons here. Very well done. So the Mesa Arch shot here was shot at 10am? I like how you got the sunstar. It's really hard to pick a favorite here as they all are really sweet.

These are beautiful photos, Gene. Someday I hope to get down there. You sure are enticing me to make it sooner than later. Very nice work on all of them!

My best recollection was the Mesa Arch shot was at about 10AM, maybe a bit earlier. We shot Dead Horse Point first so as to avoid the crowds at MA.
