I just got to spend my first day shooting landscapes with my new D800. In short, it's fantastic. It's a pleasure to shoot with (lot's of little details they just got very right), and of course, the images are wonderful. Here are some shots from that first day.
#2 is my favorite here. I like the detail in #4. In #3, the shot is feeling cut off. Clean up the edges a bit on it. The tree that is just poking in from the right feels distracting, same with the bottom of the shot. Clean edges is key here.
Thanks for the comments everyone. It turns out I went over the limit for # of photos/thread and the last 4 (which got most of the comments) were moderated out. I've put them up in another post here.

Thanks for the inputs. I have to say I agree with you about #3. I even remember thinking they were distracting, but somehow that got lost as I continued to process the image. Here's another take:
I'm a little torn about the mountain on the bottom. I almost feel like that should go too, but I like the mountain itself so it's a tough call for me. I'd love to get your take on the re-edit.
