There's a paradox in there.
It's more rewarding to think in terms of how to profit off of FB rather than what it costs, because everything that pays one's bills has to do with ROI, not costs.
I think the fiasco is more about two distinct, fundamental principles.
1. Facebook has provided and marketed it's service as "free" for nearly a decade, and to begin charging just because they can is tasteless and unprofessional.
2. Our friends, fans, clients, or whatever you'd like to call them, CHOOSE and REQUEST to view our posts.
Regulating the REQUESTS of others to view your posts is unprofessional on Facebook's part.
If Facebook decided to do the same thing with ALL accounts, would you still be part of Facebook?
