Hello all,
This is my first post here.
This forum has been recommended to me by a friend (posting here) who I consider very talented.
I just got my first gear not a week ago, upgrading more or less from iPhone so there is a lot to learn:P

And after that one week, my friend challenged me !
I picked up the most silly thing I could think at the time and said "Sure ! McDonald's Food !"

Below are the 2 pics we took.
I am not saying yet which one is which but would like your honest feedback.

Cheers

One taken by each of you?

I'm guessing yours is the first, his is the second. I prefer the second.

Mr.Bean,
This is correct on the premise
However the guess about who shot what was mistaken, BW is my shot.(with 50mm 1.4D)

As I am still trying to understand what makes a good pic, I'd like to know what people like / dislike.

Side note: since I don't know yet how post process pics, this is basically the jpg out of the box. Just resized and a bit trimmed.

Lightroom or Photoshop Elements are pretty good to get started with. Learning what makes a good photo is something we all strive for. There are lots of good resources to help you along the way. Picking up a copy of Understanding Exposure might be a good start. Michael Freeman has some great books as well on composition. Welcome to FM - Paul
