I imagine it is an uncomfortable experience, I've found insight comes along and, sometimes it just ain't there, no matter how much we want it to be. But, we're not shooting and developing film so the cost is zero for all practical purposes - only cost is the time and fun of using a camera, computer, and software.
How many images have you seen of a leaf resting on a wet asphalt surface? I'll bet plenty - how many times have we "seen" that same image yet not really "seen" it? I'll bet plenty. Every now and then we discover one such image on our own - that is what makes it fun and a challenge. Think I need a beer.
