A one image shot, no HDR taken last week while on a return trip to the area. I may crop in some on the left hand side. Let me know if you have any suggestions for improvement.
A couple more tweaks are required and thanks for mentioning the distortion. I should never try to work on images in the middle of the night I think I should go and lighten the top of the steeple as well while I am at it.
Barbara,
I really like this image.
Love the contrast, dark mood, and the dark clouds on the left add both visual balance and mood to a fine image. Comp is spot on in my opinion.
Bob and others may have more useful fine tuning suggestions than I can offer.
Tweak, cross-post to BW.
Also, the alignment of the window that lets you "see through" is a nice detail. +1 at above posts.
I might consider trimming some off the bottom, still leaving enough to bring the shadow line "near" the LLC. Also, I might consider cloning the tree branch in the URC ... noting that I said consider for both as we are only talking subtle points
Scott, glad you like the image. The posted version is a little flat so I did some additional straightening of the tree, Church steeple and lightened the top of the church. I may post a couple images over in the B/W forum, thank you for suggesting it.
Kent, appreciate your comments and I cropped out the uppermost limp on the right but not sure if I like it, it's on a separate layer so I can replace the limb at a moment's notice. I haven't played around with cropping tighter on the bottom so I will look into that. Thanks, Barbara
