· Macbook, LR & D800 tethered shooting
I am configuring a 13" Macbook Pro as a location device to shoot tethered to.
Will I see a better/quicker/necessary performance jump installing more ram or a faster processor?
I am currently spec'ing out an i5 processor with 8 gigs of ram, but could go to 16 gigs if it would be a noticeable jump.
Anyone care to share laptop/D800/tethered thoughts?
thnx.

Website says there seems to be an issue with D800 and D800E but no link or explanation.

IMHO a SSD would help more., especially the new ones are very fast.

So the jump from 8 gigs to 16 gigs isn't warranted?

More ram will always help and especially when dealing with D800 files. But I don't think more ram will help with tethering speed.
I've tethered a D800 to a Macbook Air (not the latest one) using LR 4.2 and it was reasonably fast.
