Bodie - well, it is a ghost town in the eastern Sierra, north of Lee Vining about 30 minutes; the other nearby town is Bridgeport..
it started about 1860 after a major gold discovery. the vein of gold was 4 feet wide!!
the town grew very rapidly; it was actually a get-a-way spot for folks living in San Francisco, who rode for many hours in carriages to get there. it was so large and wealthy, it nearly became the capitol of California. if you think of visiting, Joe, there are many books on the city.

I don't think I have any 'supporting' images for the cables but will look.

aaahhh, any one can shoot in the morning, but the challenge is to bask and shoot in the glorious noon-day sun rays. actually (one of my secrets), I search for mid-day shadows to enhance my images; not all are wonderful, but some really enhance (me thinks) the image.
