p.1 #1 · RX100 video shooters, help me out on settings

Anyone can help me out on this?

I setup my Sony RX100 for full manual exposure mode (Dial "M") and hit the video record button, but the camera won't hold the selected manual exposure settings. It keeps the shutter speed but then it will automatically vary the aperture depending on lighting. Any solutions or if I setup the camera wrongly?

Thanks!

Found my answer at DPR.

For those interested, to shoot fully manual movies on the RX100, you have to select movie mode, then go back into the menu option, select movies, then all the way down the tab to select manual mode for video. The "M" mode dial on the top of the camera doesn't work for manual video and defaults to program mode.

Thanks Joe. I'll try to remember that for when I want to fire up the RX100 on video.

yeah i had to read the online manual to know that
i also had to read it to understand how to set up the memory recall options
now that it's set up to taste, i'm loving the camera
it needs auto iso in manual mode though
