I have a lot of the latest CF cards from Transcend and Lexar. Their 400x cards are nearly exactly the same in peformance/speed. But the Transcend cost less. Comparing their 600x cards, the Transcend cards are a bit faster for a lower price. The 1000x cards I have not compared because the Transcend 1000x cards where just released and are not in the shops yet.
and they didn't really have anything to show at the show. i discussed the XQD/CFast issue and they said both Canon and Phase One were willing to commit to it. and the children at Nikon said they have heard nothing from the head office on direction for their rudderless ship on the subject. i see much potential stupidity ahead in the format realm.
Meanwhile it's difficult to buy any cards not urgently needed. I don't want to be sitting on a ton of the latest flash memory versions of Betamax or HD disc, etc.
again the magic asterisk appears and sends us to the small print
*Minimum 120MB/s read transfer, write speeds lower. Speeds based on TestMetrix certified tester. Actual sustained speed may vary depending on host device.
**When paired with a UDMA 7 enabled reader, sold separately.
I would guess they replaced their older 600x cards with these 800x. And I would belive they are rather fast (have not used them so I don't know) But even their new 400x cards are rather fast.
But Amazon have about the same price on the 1000x and 800x
To update this old thread; B+H are now selling Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB UDMA7 CF cards with a note that the box may state UDMA6.
I doubt these are faster than UDMA6 in most cameras but they clearly have an updated interface. Bizarre that a premium company like Sandisk should get their packaging wrong but it appears to be the case. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/646876-REG/SanDisk_SDCFXP_032G_A91_32GB_Extreme_Pro_CompactFlash.html

Thanks for the update,
I'm sure they are a lot faster than their old cards. Both Lexar and Transcend where a lot faster when they upgraded to UDMA 7.
This thread is nearly half a year old. So if Sandisk still uses their old UDMA 6 for their latest UDMA 7 cards it's incredible bad (IMO) What do they save when doing that? 5 cents on that Chinese box or? And what's that when selling their most expensive memory cards that cost a lot. And are they that stupid that they produce ten times as many UDMA 6 boxes than they have UDMA 6 cards?

After I had a string of Transcend SD cards fail on me, I have never looked the Transcend way for memory cards again. But now that I am in CF territory, I will consider them again.
Stay away from Transcend...just the SD cards.CF cards are good

Why would anyone own 100 CF cards? I think the OP is full of it.
Why would anyone own 10 cameras or 50 lenses? Many people here at FM do that.
I use all my cards when travelling. Every year I do a 3-4 months trip in Asia. Tell me anything better than cards to use in those 3-4 months. If not it's just a proof that you are full of it..........
Lars has plenty of cards and photos to prove it, not that he needs to.

Obviously he is jealous and like to whine about it.
Why would it be strange to have bought 100 cards in a ten years time period like he writes? I'm sure that I have bought 50 CF and SD cards in the last ten years.
It smells of jealousy a long way
Despite being a prior sandisk user, I recently bought the lexar 1000x and haven't hit the buffer on the mk 3 yet. Been extremely happy with the memory card
Lars has posted images here in the past with a box chock full of memory. I have no idea how many cards are in that box but every time I see that photo I want to reach in and grab a handful like a kid taking Halloween candy!
As far as the FOS poster goes I had to stop and wonder why I had him on ignore....thanks for the reminder!
I've been a Sandisk user for years and I just ordered an Extreme Pro CF card that is rated UDMA 7.
