How do you go to QS2 from QS1 in the QS menu?
QS = quick setting
Can someone chip in?

From memory, you just hit the QS button twice within a second or so.

I am not sure how your friend gave you proper DNG files from the DP2 Merrill. The only way I know of would be 'second-hand' files in the sense that they would have to be converted to TIFF first, then to DNG. Lots of good data thrown away there and not a good representation of what those files really hold.

Neither do I; I don´t know the person. But thats what I got.

Here's an example of the banding problem. Please click here and check the forehead/nose. I used the medium setting here, and it's still clearly visible. 6s shutter time, but still..

I was taking some pictures today in good light, and had to crank the banding removal slider to the middle again to get rid of banding. At 1/40s shutter and ISO100, this really shouldn't occur..

I just looked at the photo at the 2048 resolution at the link you provided. I must be missing something or I am not looking hard enough.

What is the problem with the forehead/nose area?

Please check the full size image. There are clear visible vertical lines, which I can't get rid of. I checked on two calibrated monitors here

There isn't a full resolution there, the largest is 2048...

Just 2048.
I also checked here Eizo Graphic monitor calibrated every week and I see no lines. I see a nice dog ,-) dreaming.

Maybe, maybe... some vertical dark lines, very fade but no one can tell if it´s banding if its from the floor wood.

I will remember to check for lines like this next time I shoot in a poorly lit room for 6 seconds.

As far as could read banding occur with this camera when:
1. it´s working for hours and gets really hot.
2. hot weather; gets really hot too (of course).

Maybe I'm picky, but the effect is visible in pretty much every image if banding noise removal is below the middle setting. Single shots, short exposures, outside or indoors etc. Long exposures seem to make the problem worse, and lines can't be eliminated in SPP. It's hard not to pixel peep with this camera

I' ll see vaquely what you mean only in the background above the dog's head. What ISO? Very dark there.
I never tryed these kind of "portraits' with not much light with the DP2m.

I can see it clearly now

I see now clearly the lines like this was a print on paper with texture. Vertical lines.
Jede you should share you raw file so we could open it here and see better. I´ve the SPP.
