p.1 #1 · Thinking of selling 24mm f/1.4g for 28/1.8g + 28-300/3.5-5.6g
The 24/1.4 is one-of-a-kind and great for getting so crazy perspectives but I'm realizing that I could probably make due with the 28/1.8. In my defense, I purchased this when there was no affordable () alternative.
I browsed the B/S forums but I don't think the prices apply to me since mine is gray market (purchased while I lived in Hong Kong for a few months) and I don't think many folks here would be interested. I'm hoping I can sell it to B&H or Adorama for ~$1,200, which would definitely put me in range to purchase both lenses new. Think this is feasible?
I also own the 50/1.8g, and 105/2.8g micro. The 28-300 is mostly because a lot of the pictures I take tend to be "travel style" and it would be nice to travel lightly when I just want to have my camera with me but am not necessarily specifically going out to take some shots

Hmm, guess I'm just getting my terminology wrong then haha. It still would make a pretty decent price difference with Adorama and B&H though, no? I've only ever sold USA products to them before. Guess I;ll see what they offer and if it's bad I'll try and unload it here.

I sold the 24 and picked up the 28. I loved my 24 but the 28 was a better focal length for me. With the exceptin of build quality I like the 28 better. It is sharp and contrasty and is very similar to the 24. IQ wise it is hard to tell the difference. The 28 seems a smidge faster focusing.

Why not selling here at B&S? B&H and Adorama need to make profit, so they will buy your stuffs at a much lower price (sorry Adorama and B&H) but it's true.

I've send you PM, regarding your lens. I like 24 better, as for me 28 closer to 50. Both lenses are great though, 28 is great...value, 24 is just that...great

I have around 30+ lenses, most of them primes... old and new, AF and MF, Nikkors and other brands... and 24/1.4 is my favorite from the whole bunch. I'll never understand how one could part with it I have also 28/1.8 AF-S that I use mostly on street and when traveling and it deserves every penny - so good is it... but for the most serious work 24/1.4 is a gem that supports creativity...
