Does anyone know if the hard shield or sock is still required when using the new Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT with PocketWizard miniTT1 and Flex TT5?
I know this new flash is now radio controllable using the new Canon system but I already have the PocketWizard miniTT1 and Flex TT5. Right now I'm using it with an old 430EX (version 1) which still works well, but I'm thinking of upgrading the the flash to get a little more power.
I've called, emailed, and read their webpage and FB page to get the quick answers to basic questions. They might even tell you they're not compatible yet and that they are testing them.
That makes sense. Given that the 600EX-RT is designed from the get-go to work with radio, I suspect they did a careful job of RFI-prevention during the design phase.
