I bought Saturday morning and received a UPS tracking number the next day. That's the good news. The bad news is that I've checked the tracking number on UPS and still nothing shows up. In fact, it says they haven't even received the camera yet!
Anyone else buy on Saturday morning and able to track his or her camera?
I've seen another email saying that Adorama prepared for this and everything supposedly went-out or was prepped Sunday (if you ordered Saturday), but it's a little disconcerting to see the UPS show that it hasn't even reached them yet!
Mine has made its way to Kansas and is supposed o be delivered tomorrow. If yours didn't make the truck Sunday, it was probably shipped today since they were closed Monday and Tuesday.
One thing that I have noticed is that sometimes the UPS tracking information says item not found for a few days and then suddenly, close to the expected delivery date, you get to see an update.
The dealer explained that bulk presorted shipments are not scanned till the next hop - hard to believe the theory, but have seen this happen to me personally 2 times - once from Adorama and once from J&R.
Thanks ... I hope this is the case ... I bought early Saturday ... maybe number 40 or so and still no tracking info ... perhaps this theory is true as I am on the West Coast ...

Did you check your spam? It might be too late to do so now. AFC168 wrote:

Can you please clear the air on how this ebay thing works when you guys sell a camera on ebay for $700+ below retail / what is on your site?
here are some of the claims:
-canon has an over abundance of the particular model due to lagging sales and let's certain verndor's blow thru inventory thru these deals
-the merchant has a ton of overstock and needs to dump them at X price below retail just to get ride of excess inventory (i doubt this is true since apparently some of the cameras aren't even in stock).
-ebay contracts a special price with the merchant and ebay eats the difference in the cost. in effect, this type of deal makes ebay look like the go to place for hot deals on a current hot item.
-something else? please please explain. please let us know so all of the armchair market analysts can go back to their day jobs.
