Every lighting setup is different, tailored to the person or product being shot and what we're trying to say with it. There are no "typical" setups in my world, but here are two set shots from a shoot at Kino a while back, and yes, every one of those C-Stands was really doing something. I think we used close to everything we had - about eighteen of them in total by the time it was all done.
I do mostly stuffs for catalog, website with knockout white background so my setup is very straight forward. Sometimes I do hundreds of different products at a time, they are different size, shape, color.....so those 2 in the pictures are my basic set ups, I use them 90% of the time. Other time, if there are special requirements then I change.
