p.1 #1 · Printing onto Acrylic

I'm considering getting 3 A3 sized prints done directly onto acrylic sheets (5mm) for display in a bathroom.

Printing is going to be done by www.imagelab.co.nz on a rho uv inkjet with a white ink afterwards.

Files are currently 16bit PSD (CS5) aRGB tweaked to look good on a u2711.

As this isnt looking cheap I want to know how best to process the files..

Heres what their Digital production technician says:
You can supply them to us as AdobeRGB, 8 bit please, not 16bit. We will convert to USweb Coated (Swop) V2 CMYK.
We prefer to have the RGB file so that we can make any necessary adjustments for printing to whatever substrate we are printing to before conversion to CMYK to make it look the best. So no we do not have an ICC profile available for soft proofing, sorry

Any hints?

So get in touch and ask them. Without looking at the images, their resolution, etc, there really isn’t much anyone can say. Do you have them online anywhere?

Things you can do: convert them to 8 bit, soft proof them with a wide gamut paper/media to see where any possible out of gamut areas may exist.

Thanks!
I have two of the three online. The third is similar, macro of a white flower.

I think I feel like I have hassled them enough and got all the information I am likely to get. I havnt found anyone else likely to offer this service in NZ.

I'll try the soft proofing as you say see how it goes thanks!
