This is my second time there shooting sunsets. It does seem helpful to revisit the same location multiple times to start pulling better images. Here are a couple from this week.
That was always my family's favorite camping growing up, so I have many fond memories. Unfortunately, the trees have dramatically transformed the campground for the worse in the last 10 years. Anyway, I really dig your first one. The sky is awesome, but the foreground beach isn't helping and should be cropped to clean it up. You have a hard grad line showing up on both, and the sky shouldn't be lighter than the sky, which is its only major fault. Ideally, the vechicles wouldn't be there, too, but not much you can do about that except to clone them.
I do not find the dock to be a photogenic element on the second one, so I'll end it there.
Thank you for the detailed feedback. I added another which addresses at least a couple of those concerns. I was hoping the dock would provide an invitation into the lake, but it doesn't really have that feel.
These are fantastic. I love the colors. I think the reason the deck doesn't work is its pointing the wrong way as its leading the eyes to a corner that has no real interest. I really like your #1 and #3 image. The colors are amazing and love the light rays on #1. I would suggest perhaps cropping out that bit of land on the bottom corner.
