...and the pilings are a little older! Great textures here. Could almost go as a square crop without the sky at all, but then the stick-up in the water distant might cause some issues.

I like this mucho, Tom.
I agree about the possibilities of a crop (as another way to skin a cat ).
Ah, western forests 100 years ago. Wouldn't it have been nice to walk through old-growth forests that weren't surrounded by clear-cut leavings- and the lumber company tree farms planted there?
Sigh. In many ways they WERE the good old days.
Charlie
Douglas - glad you like the textures. IR certainly helps here.
Charlie - there are still a great many trees in NW Calif, but and the lumber business there seems to be growing!
John - yes! start using your IR camera, develop that second sight!
crop - I just follow the old 35mm format, and mount and frame to this format; thus cropping is a pain for me.
regards to all, tom

Ahah!
Tom; I'm an inflexible old fogey about so many "new" things (as you and others have so kindly pointed out ).
But I crop. Therefore I am!
Hee haw- ride 'em cowboy.
Charlie
