Stony Brook Dasville NY Camera Nikon D800 Lenses Tamron 17-35 2.8-4 and Nikon 24-120 F4VR. Used Helicon software to take two shots one focused close in other focused far out and combined with the Helicon software.

Yes. No problem. The roads had been cleared. The only problem was trying not to run over tourists who always flock to Newfound Gap whenever it snows. But, I will say that the mountains received a lot of snow and that the snow was piled up alongside the road and parking lot about as high as I have ever seen here. The snow was still on the evergreens so it made for a beautiful sight against a blue sky in the bright sunlight. Clingman's Dome road was still closed. I drove over the gap into NC and there wasn't nearly as much snow. Always amazes me how different the two sides of the same mountain can be.
I'll head back up today to get some of the shots that I couldn't get yesterday.
And for my 2nd inquiry, anyone been in Yosemite lately? I saw a shot from Michael Frye from outside of Yosemite that looked good, but how about inside the valley?
Jim, Yosemite Valley was fantastic yesterday (Saturday 11/03) and looked to me like it was still a few days from peak. The trees along Southside Drive were very colorful and the meadow in front of El Capitan kept me busy for a couple of hours. The weather looks good for the next few days so get there soon if you can. The river is also very low and reflections are incredible.

Thanks so much! Your shots on Flickr look really great! Your update really gives me a feel for the valley there. These will help me to decide if I go there or not.
