· Help me ID a lens Nikonians?
I have the opportunity to snag an older Nikkor 50/1.8 for $25. But since I'm unfamiliar with Nikkor lenses, I don't know which one this is or how good it is. Could someone please help me and let me know if it's worth it?

Your one-stop shop for lens identification.
Looks to be a 50mm f/1.8 AI-s made between 81-85. 25 bucks is a great deal if it's in fine working order!

You appear to be correct. I tried looking up the serial # there, but couldn't find anything. Looking at mir.com, it appears to be a Ai-S indeed -

Thanks Philip for helping to confirm this. Gonna try and snag it up before someone else.
