I'd like to do macro stuff of insects and spiders- but up close and magnified, they scare the crap out of me.
And I have never watched a Japanese science fiction movie.
Thanks, guys.
One day this little beauty was sitting on the hood of my car- waiting.
I took his picture and drove away. He flew off at 30 mph. No record, though- I've had live bugs on my windshield that held on to 50 mph.

Thanks Lazlo, John and Cheryl.
I don't know the slang term for these bugs in the western states, but what we call stink bugs are medium-sized black beetles.

I really like the very long shadows, good stuff Charlie.
Thanks Dan and Fishit.
Yes, it was the long shadows that drew me to it. These insects are big enough that light can get under their bodies, and thereby throw shadows a fair distance- when the light source is perfect .
