p.1 #1 · 1D MKIII auto focus joystick fell off please help
Last night I was shooting on a sailboat and the little joystick on the back of the camera that controls the auto focus popped off. I called canon this morning to get a replacement and they said that it has been discontinued and they do not have any in stock. Does anyone have any idea of where I might be able to find one or of some other way to replace it.

Send it in to be repaired and it will be repaired. The camera is recent enough. Make no mention of your phone conversation. Possibly it might take a while if they have to get the part from Japan. It is also likely to be the same as the part from another Canon DSLR.

My friend's 1dsIII joystick fell off twice and both times fixed by Canon. By looking at it, can you even do it by yourself? with glue? Because once it got loose, you can pop it back but it'll keep popping out.
