I need a recommendation for a wireless remote shutter release for my 5D MK III.
Requirements are:
• Ability to fire shutter wirelessly via ad-hoc button press
• Ability to fire shutter via timer at intervals of roughly every 1 second or every 10 seconds
• Locking button for long exposure shooting in bulb mode
I've never had a misfire using the button trigger, and all the timer functions work as advertised. The same tx/rx combo can be used with all kinds of cameras; you only need to buy new cables (also available at B&H for a few bucks) to plugin to the camera body.
The bonus for me is that the receiver, which uses an odd size battery, has an on/off switch so I don't have to worry so much about running down the battery in my camera bag.
The only improvement I would add is a loop on the transmitter so I could put it on a lanyard.
Don't lose the instruction manual - I was not able to locate downloadable PDFs on the vellogear.com website.
